The hymen may tear for a variety of reasons, such as riding a bicycle, falling, vaginal intercourse, or direct trauma to the vaginal opening and vulva. Hymen repair is the restoration of the hymen to its previous state. It’s typically performed for religious, cultural, or social reasons.
